Alamance County, founded in 1849, now comprises 10 municipalities: Burlington, Elon, Graham, Mebane, Haw River, Gibsonville, Village of Alamance, Green Level, Ossipee, and Swepsonville. These townships all offer a low cost of living, a wide variety of neighborhoods and lifestyles, low crime rate, the full range of educational product, an abundance of recreational activities and diverse opportunities for employment.

Alamance County, located along the I-85/40 corridor, enjoys a diversity few communities can claim, the proximity to the cosmopolitan triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and triad (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem) areas while retaining a southern lifestyle and small town charm. Alamance County residents enjoy a good educational system, quality transportation networks (25 minutes either direction to the RDU or Piedmont Triad International Airports), as well as exceptional health care and easy access to some of the finest institutions of higher learning. It is truly a refuge from the hurried, accelerated lifestyle associated with big cites.

The property on which the club is located was a land grant to the Bason family. First settled by Jacob Bason, an officer in the Revolutionary War, the land continued in the Bason family and was farmed by Jeremiah, William, and George Bason, Sr.

Deciding not to continue the family tradition of dairy farming, George Bason, Jr. retained golf course architect Ellis Maples to design and construct a championship golf course and country club. Together with Ed Seay, the Piedmont Crescent Country Club was organized in 1969 and opened in September 1970.

In 1975, the membership of the Piedmont Crescent Country Club purchased the club from the Bason family. The club was owned and operated by the membership until April 1985 when the club was sold to Will C. Mann. The name of the club was changed to Quarry Hills Country Club in June 1985.

Following 21 years of ownership, Will Mann passed the reigns of ownership to Western Cypress Golf, LLC who, in May 2006, gave the Club its current name of Cedar Forest Golf Club. In late March of 2008, James Park, a Durham resident, took over ownership and management of the club. The course is now fully operational, and in good condition.  Park's main objective is to continue to ensure a commitment to quality.
